However, I have successfully inserted a symbol by entering the prescribed numbers on the numeric keypad WITHOUT pressing a Num Lock key--even though Windows Symbols instructed me to press the Num Lock key first. I'll keep searching for that key, but it seems that maybe Num Lock is not necessary on this computer.
